This site was born from the desire to create a community for music lovers to discuss, debate, review and share their knowledge about the greatest live performances, concerts and concert albums on CD and DVD across all genres–from rock to jazz to blues to hip-hop to r&b to classical and beyond.

In looking around the web, a number of websites have taken on the Sisyphean task of ranking the top X or list of greatest live album of all time. Invariably, these lists cause controversy. And we’ll be jumping right in to the turbulent waters by starting our own list here soon, too, based on a combination of our reviews and user reviews. We’ll also break down best live album recordings by genre–although even then, the debate doesn’t stop. And that’s what makes this fun!

In the meantime, to get the conversation started, we found a few of the top live album lists around the web compiled by the folks at Rolling Stone Magazine , Stylus Magazine, and Digital Dream Door.
