Dire Straits are one of my favorite bands of all time with lots

of talent. And this is one of my favorite albums, period. Some of the best songs on here are ‘Calling Elvis’, ‘Heavy fuel’, and ‘Money for Nothing’ and they are total rocking. Buy this album if you don’t have it.,

    Dire Straits were always talented

    which make great music.

I’m not been there when this was done, but hearing i think is the best live concert till now. Hear it with phones to understand this.

Overall this isn’t a ‘bad’ project. Typically I think most live projects fall flat. However Mark Knopfler holds it together and they do their standards with a small amount of flair. However, Mark needs to learn how to speak. His opening phrases to get the crowd going is barely intelligible. Glad he can play the guitar though. Don’t get me wrong, I love the group. But they have done a lot better.

You can’t beat the studio versions of Brothers in Arms and Money for Nothing. But, why it the world do you put a steel guitar in a pop band? It totally ruined the live versions of some of the band’s songs. Just like when the Eagles did some funky variation of Hotel California and took out the lead guitars and threw some horns in it and I wanted to run to Taco Bell. The Eagles are great, but c’mon, leave the standards alone. If I go to a concert, I expect to hear power chords and riffs from lead guitars and not some hokey steel guitar and I go running for a Hank Williams LP with “Your Cheatin’ Heart” on it. If you’re a fan, buy the CD used, don’t pay full price.

Instead by the studio version of Brothers in Arms. But be careful, there is a twentieth edition “Brothers In Arms” being marketed as a DVD. It is a DVD, but it’s only a 5.1 audio version to play in your surround system. It’s not a live footage concert.

This is known as the BEST cd by Dire Straits! Check out songs

such as Callin’ Elvis, Walk of Life, Heavy Fuel, Romeo and Juliet, Private Investigations, Your Latest Trick, Money for

Nothing, and the very good, Brothers in Arms. Those maybe all

my favorites. Especially songs such as Heavy Fuel, and Private

Investigations are really heavy on metal. This is a great CD

if you are a heavy metal fan.
