HOLY MASTER PIECE, FROM A REALLY GREAT BAND THAT I RESPECT Dream Theater – Hollow Years Live at Budokan Copyright: 1997 EastWest “Hollow Years” is the fourth song and the first single from the Dream Theater album Falling into Infinity. The lyrics were written entirely by John Petrucci. An accompanying music video was also released which cost around $100000. The version on Live At Budokan features an intro solo as well as a new middle solo, considered by many to be among Petrucci’s best. Lyrics: He’s just the kind of man You hear about Who leaves his family for An easy out They never saw the signs He never said a word He couldn’t take another day Carry me to the shoreline Bury me in the sand Walk me across the water And maybe you’ll understand Once the stone You’re crawling under Is lifted off your shoulders Once the cloud that’s raining Over your head disappears The noise that you’ll hear Is the crashing down of hollow years She’s not the kind of girl You hear about She’ll never want another She’ll never be without She’ll give you all the signs She’ll tell you everything Then turn around and walk away Carry me to the shoreline Bury me in the sand (Into the waves) Walk me across the water And maybe you’ll understand Once the stone You’re crawling under (Once the stone) Is lifted off your shoulders Once the cloud that’s raining Over your head disappears The noise that you’ll hear Is the crashing down of hollow years Carry me to the shoreline Bury me in the sand (Into the …

And those people are considered to be “mentally challenged”. Those are the losers that are brainwashed into listening to whore gaga and skrillex
Imagine that there are some people who support that Petrucci ruined the song with this solo. Tragic….
good solo
adamlar çok iyi amını yurdunu sikeyim
who the hell can dislikes this? what’s wrong with u people? god damn it!!!
HOLLOW EARS!!! IS WHAT IT IS!!!
I think Gary Moore was quite an emotional player as well as Santana and Petrucci as well. A lot of people can play fast and accurate, but only a few make me feel something or tell a story with their solos.
best petrucci’s live solo ever, pure emotion!
simply pentatonic,sounds great!
Love this song, especially the powerful vocal harmonies on the final chorus and that solo.
One question though: Anybody know why MP’s bass drum sounds so different on this song than the rest on this album? Did the sound engineer just take the beater click out of the sound or is there more to it than that?
me exita
@dudaspriest11 What about SRV?
5:30 John Petrucci: “god mode: on”
@Lesstra if anyone can beat him in that aspect its Santana, I agree
no words!
@dudaspriest11 Santana beats him in that area, imo
