Usta B’s – Love Me Like A Man

Performing at Hobo’s Tavern in Simpson, North Carolina on Friday December 30, 2011 for Christy Radford’s 40th Birthday Party. “Love You Like A Man” was written by Chris Smither and appeared on his 1991 solo album “Another Way to Find You”. In 1969, Smither first performed “Love You Like A Man” for Bonnie Raitt. A longstanding working relationship ensued as Raitt’s cover of “Love Me Like a Man” appeared on her second album “Give It Up”; released in 1972. Raitt has since made it a signature song of her live performances. The song has been included on several of Raitt’s live albums and collections. She has openly expressed admiration for Smither’s songwriting and guitar playing, once calling Smither “my Eric Clapton”. Jazz singer Diana Krall covered “Love Me Like A Man” on her 2004 album “The Girl in the Other Room”. The Usta B’s are first and foremost a family.
